Everyone, whether professional or amateur is welcome, regardless of nationality or age (excluding Junior & Senior High School Students' Category).

Other Information
Award-winners' Exhibition will be held at Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and several other sites upon schedule.

Regulations

Entry Rules
  • Size of the work must be 120cm (47 1/4in.) to 230cm (90 1/2in.) both in the width and the length.
  • Work must consist of a top, the batting, the backing and these three layers must be held together by hand-or-machine quilting or other methods.
  • Work must have been completed after July 31, 2007, and must be an original work. Works that have appeared in any copyrighted publications (such as magazines, books, newspapers), any contests, any competitions, any exhibitions (excluding private exhibitions) and/or any internet site other than quilter's own site are not eligible.
  • Quilt must be constructed and quilted by the person named on the entry form (except for the Junior & Senior High School Students' Category).
  • Entries are limited to 2 entries per person. (Please fill out the Entry Form and send it together with 2 photographs; a full frontal photograph and a detailed photograph).

  • To Enter, Send
    1. The first round of screenings will be juried by photographs.
    Please send a completed entry form along with 2 photographs from July 1 through July 31, 2009. The first round of jury screenings will be held early in October, 2007. All entrants will be notified of the results by letter.

    2. The second round will be juried by actual works.
    The second round will be held from among the works selected in the first round. The deadline for sending the works will be October 30, 2009.
    Entries will require an entry fee of 6,000yen to cover packing and return shipping fees, etc.
    Qualifying entrants shall be responsible for shipping their works to the exhibition committee office.
    Free entry fee is applied only to the Category of Junior & Senior High School Students.
    All entrants will be notified the results of the second round by letter in mid-December.

    Award-Winners Works Exhibition
    February 6th―February 11th, 2010
    The First Exhibition will be held at Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum.
    This exhibition will travel both within Japan and abroad after the first exhibition.(the 9th exhibition travelled to three places in Japan and two abroad countries)

    Notes
    *The catalogue will be published. The organizer shall retain the right to publish any works entered into the contest.
    *The award-winning works will be held until the end of March, 2011.
    *The organizer may cancel any prizes and awards that violate the entry rules.
    *The organizer will insure the entered works, and take utmost precautions in the handling and maintenance of the works, but cannot be held responsible for damage due to inherent properties of materials used, construction defects, natural disasters, or other factors beyond its control.
